I'm both a Theater Operations expert and enabler of artistic ideas. I consult on theater operations, and work with artists to bring their dreams to life.

Born and raised in The Bronx, I was most recently the Director of Operations for the Alliance of Resident Theatres for New York (A.R.T./New York), an arts service organization working to support the nonprofit NYC theatre community.

I was the House Manager on the inaugural staff of The New Victory Theater, the city’s first theater dedicated to kids and family programming. He was part of the team that created The New Vic Usher Corps – a groundbreaking, youth development program for NYC youth.

Over 9 seasons as the Theatre Manager at The Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, the Broadway home of Manhattan Theatre Club, I welcomed 27 different Broadway shows into the theatre, including the Tony Award winning production of August Wilson’s Jitney.

I am a graduate of the Arts Leadership Institute (2010) and the Commercial Theatre Institute (2014), a member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee for ATPAM (Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers), the Venue Committee of the Broadway Green Alliance and have served on the Broadway Security Steering Committee and the Broadway League's Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

In 2018, I presented on the importance of diversity on Broadway, both onstage and off.

In 2017, I assisted with the production of Venessa Diaz's solo show ORGANIC SOFRITO, which had a successful run at the 2017 United Solo Festival.

In 2011 I co-produced the award winning short film FRIENDS AND STRANGERS.

Past consulting clients for theatre Operations include 59E59 Theatres, The Apollo, Queens College, United Palace and Town Stages.

“Whether visiting as a Keynote Speaker or managing the pre-show adrenaline of audiences and staff at NYC theaters, Jim is the complete picture of wise and approachable. I always feel confident in his being at the helm."
